I offer a variety of hand-forged blacksmith tongs, handled top tools (punches, hot cuts, fullers, etc.), Japanese style hammers and mini cone mandrels. My tongs, etc. are professional quality tools and made to last.

* I have relocated overseas, to Taiwan (my wife's country) and set up shop here. The shipping is quick - approximately 5 business days via Taiwan's Post Office, International Express Mail Service. I can always be reached via my e-mail so please check in with me if you have any questions. I know many people prefer to talk on the phone and so I will gladly call anyone - just e-mail me your number and the best time to call. Lastly, I want to point out that I am a proud American and pay American taxes on my work. Thanks. Glen. glen03@earthlink.net

Note: I know the question of buying v. making tongs comes up in many metal smiths minds. Although my main product is tongs, I am glad when smiths have the motivation, time and skill to make their own tongs. However, I want to point out that my customers are made up of everyone from beginning to very advanced smiths. Some cannot make tongs. Some can make tongs but not very well. Some can make perfectly fine tongs but have no time given their other pursuits. Still others can make their own but unlike myself, find tong making boring and unsatisfying. My point is that you shouldn't feel obligated to make your own tongs thinking that somehow making tongs is standard procedure for all who hammer on hot metal. I am perfectly capable of making most of the different tools I use but chose not to do so in some cases and instead buy from someone else for reasons just explained.

Doing my work from overseas has forced me to think outside the box and has led me to make changes/improvements in my tongs, etc. I have figured out a way to make my tongs without welding of any kind which is a great improvement from the past. Basically, using 1/2 round stock, I upset one end to provide enough metal for the jaw and pivot areas. This makes my tongs very hefty and gives them a very postive feel when holding metal. I guarantee them to hold well - there is hardly anything in blacksmithing more frustrating than having a hot piece of metal jumping around when you are hammering not to mention dangerous. When it comes to working with hot steel, if you can't hold it right, you can't hit it right. All tongs are approximately 14 inches in total length.

Please contact me if you have any questions or comments. I take pride in my work and want to stress that although I am operating from overseas now, I am still a one-man operation and personally make all the tongs I sell. If you ever have questions or need help, it is easy to contact me via e-mail. I make, service and stand by my work. Thanks for supporting small business.
